About the Beer
In April 2017, Alison delivered the keynote speech to an audience of 5000 at the Craft Brewer’s Association annual conference in Washington, DC. After she got off stage, she was approached by a team from Bold Missy Brewery — the only female owned brewery in Charlotte. The Bold Missy crew was so inspired by Alison that they decided to name a beer in her honor.
Owner Carol Waggener asked Alison what her favorite type of beer was, and of course she answered “chocolate stout” — and Conquer the Route Chocolate Stout was born. The beer label (created by Don Jones, Studio 2131) depicts Alison during one of her Antarctic expeditions and the design is also available on t-shirts and posters. Conquer the Route Chocolate Stout is available on tap at Bold Missy Brewery and is available for distribution throughout the local area. If you’re ever in Charlotte, stop by Bold Missy for a taste.
