Leadership is everyone’s responsibility.

Alison’s Leadership Philosophy

Leadership is everyone’s responsibility – it is not solely the responsibility of the C-level executives or the management team within an organization. It is not just the job of coaches or team owners. Everyone in an organization is responsible for helping to move forward with the mission, but in addition, every single employee/teammate/person must realize it is also their responsibility to look out for the people on either side of them and help them move in the right direction as well.

Ellis Island Medal of Honor

In May 2019 Alison was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor by the Ellis Island Honors Society. The Medal recognizes individuals who have made it their mission to share with those less fortunate their wealth of knowledge, indomitable courage, boundless compassion, and selfless generosity all while maintaining the traditions of their ethnic heritage as they uphold the ideals and spirit of America . Past medalists include seven U.S. Presidents, three world leaders, several Nobel Prize winners and countless leaders of industry, education, the arts, sports and government.

Both the United States Senate and the House of Representatives have officially passed resolutions recognizing the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, which ranks among the country’s most prestigious awards. Each year, Ellis Island Medal of Honor recipients are listed in the Congressional Record, honoring those who have made enduring contributions to our nation and world.

United States Military Academy at West Point & Thayer Leader Development Group (TLDG)

Alison spent four years as an adjunct professor at West Point in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership.

She is currently a board and faculty member of the Thayer Leader Development Group at West Point, an executive education program that shares West Point leadership best practices with corporate executives.

Thayer Leader Development Group starts building leaders with a simple premise: character is foundational to your ability to lead. Combine this with knowledge and action, and you unleash the “whole” leader every organization needs. This approach has been proven by over two hundred years of application in the United States Army – and the reason we make our home at The Historic Thayer Hotel on the grounds of West Point. At TLDG, like nowhere else, you’ll experience the legacy of military leadership learnings from those who have powered and led a nation. And today, empower organizations to adapt and thrive.
